(DAEGU=Yonhap News) Daegu Mayor Kwon Young-jin announced March 3 to promote city policies based on cooperation in order to create a new Daegu.

"We have to cooperate with relevant departments and divisions when establishing plans. We can create a brighter future when we cooperate together," emphasized Kwon.

"The 7th World Water Forum that will be held next month in Daegu will be an opportunity to promote Daegu to the world. It is also an important event to secure a bridgehead for our regional water industry to enter the global market. Therefore, Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province have to cooperate together so that the two regions can become the hub of the water industry," said Kwon.

"Like Daegu was the first to promote the National Debt Repayment Movement and Daegu Democracy Movement during the Korea under Japanese rule, we will transform “cooperation” into a movement that will become global,” said Kwon.
