(DAEGU=Yonhap News) Daegu City will announce the action plan of the Seodaegu industrial complex regeneration project on October 30. The project will transform the outdated Seodaegu industrial complex into a high-tech industrial complex.

According to the plan, the city will develop the 2.6 million ㎡ industrial complex by dividing it into industrial facilities (1.29 million ㎡), multisite (24,000 ㎡), support facilities (630,000 ㎡) and public facilities (710,000 ㎡).

The sectors will be focused on smart vehicles, next-generation machinery and metal, new material textile and bio pharmaceuticals & medical equipment.

The city will invest KRW 170.6 billion by 2024 to expand infrastructure including roads and parking lots.

"The Seodaegu industrial complex regeneration project will revitalize the regional economy and increase the city competitiveness," said Daegu City Mayor Kwon Young-jin.
