(ULSAN=Yonhap News) Ulsan's plan to establish an agency for promotion of the information industry is picking up speed.

Ulsan city announced that it has completed prerequisite consultation with the Ministry of Government Affairs and Home Affairs and made an advance legislation notice required to set up the agency.

The agency, established as a foundation in accordance with the civil law and the Act on the Local Government Invested and Contributed Companies, will be responsible to fulfill Ulsan's vision of 'leading city of ICT convergence industry' and carry out 12 tasks in four categories including building foundation for growth of the U-ICT convergence industry; advancement of the ICT convergence industry; fostering future emerging technology; and creating the ICT and venture ecosystem.

Ulsan aims to open the agency in November after raising funds and completeing administrative procedures.
