According to Yonhap News,

(ULSAN=Yonhap News) The Ulsan Energy Forum, a consultative group to play a central role in nurturing emerging energy industries, was officially kicked off on Aug 17.

Around 100 representatives from 70 organizations including the Korea Energy Economics Institute, the Korea East-West Power Co., and the Korea National Oil Corporation became members of the forum.

The forum will be held quarterly starting next year after completing administrative procedures for establishment and registration. Its office will be located in the Korea Energy Economics Institute.

Information on global and domestic energy markets and trends in the energy industry will be shared and discussed through the forum. The consultative body will also work on developing and promoting the government's policies to foster new energy industries and new and renewable energy industries. Research for future energy development through convergence of gas, oil, and electricity is also part of its roles.

In addition, the forum aims to enhance cooperation among public agencies in the energy field and strengthen industry-university-institute collaboration. Building stronger network with local governments and related agencies will be one of its main goals as well.
