According to Yonhap News,
(ULSAN=Yonhap News) Ulsan will establish a basic plan to commercialize genome-based customized medical service as part of its efforts to nurture future growth engines.
The city held a kickoff meeting to work on a master plan for the bio-medical industry jointly with the Ulsan Technopark, the Ulsan Development Institute, and the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology.
The Ulsan Technopark will work with a consulting firm to study the environment for the biomedical industry and set vision, goal and key focus areas of development by May this year.
Through such efforts, they plan to analyze technology trends, market trends, and government development policies of the biomedical industry.
They will also set out strategies for commercialization and marketing for genome-based customized medical services.
"We will select specialization projects and promising technologies to work out the details for the development plan. After drawing up annual plans, we will implement them comprehensively," a Ulsan city official said.
