ULSAN < invest Korea

According to Yonhap News,

(ULSAN=Yonhap News) Carima, the world's 7th largest maker of 3D printers, is moving its headquarters from Seoul to Ulsan.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) to that effect was signed on April 10 at the Ulsan City Hall, in which both Mayor Kim Gi-hyeon and Carima CEO Lee Byungkeuk participated.

The relocation is expected to launch the city's initiative to nurture the new growth 3D-printing industry on a full scale.

Founded in 1983 as a first generation Korean maker of 3D printers, Carima has since grown into the 7th largest company of its kind in the world, with original products based on optical technology,

Representative of other companies in related industries were also present at the signing that day, including Jeil Chemical (printing materials), 3D Hub Systems (designing software), and CK D&C (dental implants).

Since 2015, the city has invested KRW 113.1 billion on 11 projects involving 3D printing technology.
