(ULSAN=Yonhap News) On Jauary 30, Ulsan Metropolitan City established an informatization enforcement plan for the realization of a smart city based on information and communication technology (ICT).
Based on the plan, the city will invest a total of KRW 28.4 billion in 2018 to push forward with 61 projects in 8 fields for the goal of transforming Ulsan into a smart city.
KRW 6.941 billion will be spent on providing customized information to citizens, through projects including informatization system development, website integration and enhancement, and public facility booking service improvement.
KRW 6.49 billion will be invested in building an Ulsan-type smart city foundation, through projects including smart city center data system development, data hub system development, and realization of big data-based scientific administration.
Other fields will include the building of a system for preventing and responding to natural disasters, administrative smart offices, important non-electronic record databases, and a comprehensive data management system for the city's Health & Environment Research Institute.
