According to Yonhap News,
(ULSAN=Yonhap News) The Graduate School of Technology and Innovation Management at the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) and the Ulsan ICT Promotion Agency (UIPA) entered into a partnership agreement on March 24 on jointly developing a new business hub for the Internet of Things (IoT) businesses.
According to the partnership agreement, UNIST will organize a pavilion for displaying and advertising new IoT products and services and train the skilled workforce required by the IoT industry.
UIPA, for its part, will discover and support the growth of new IoT businesses.
The two parties have agreed to collaborate over four main areas of activities, including developing collaborative relations and networks on the IoT and smart factories, drafting and submitting joint applications for large-scale policy support projects, exchanging information and training and technical support on IoT-related developments in and outside Korea, and creating an IoT business hub.
The partnership, designed to increase support for businesses specializing in the IoT and related technologies and strengthen the exchange of information and human resources, is expected to enhance the technological competitiveness of small and medium enterprises in Ulsan.
An UIPA official commented: “With the industrial-academic partnership and support for the advancement of the IoT technology, we will do our best to make Ulsan the leader of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Korea.”
