The city of Ulsan sent a trade mission to Tokyo and Osaka, Japan from April 23 to 27, and announced on May 14 that it successfully conducted USD 3.38 million worth of export consultations.
The consultations led to a USD 2.2 million contract.
The trade mission was made up of 8 companies including Chin Yang Chemical Corporation, Nobel Precision Metal, INTEC, Daejin Incorporate, Boseung Hightech, SUNU Hightech Solution, K Labs and Truezyme.
The consultation was conducted in two ways: by visiting the companies directly and meeting with buyers, or by visiting the business sites operated by the buyers.
INTEC, an expert manufacturer of intelligent flame detectors, resumed talks with buyers they were already in contact with in Tokyo, and discussed specific equipment installation dates, export negotiations and the next course of meetings.
Machine tool maker Daejin signed a contract worth USD 350,000 in Osaka and got orders for additional samples and projects.
An Ulsan City representative stated, "the city plans to support marketing efforts following this trip to make sure the export consultations lead to contracts."
