(ULSAN=Yonhap News) On July 24, Ulsan City announced it will invest KRW 200 billion to build a national future science museum by 2023.
According to the city, the future science museum will be established and operated in the form of a national museum under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Science and ICT.
The future science museum will be built on a 100,000㎡ site with a total area of 30,000㎡.
The city will apply for a preliminary feasibility evaluation next April and begin basic and detailed designs in September.
The city plans to differentiate itself from existing science museums by building an R&D experience hall, a future job experience hall and an industry experience hall.
The Ministry of Science and ICT also suggested that the construction plan for the museum and the KRW 4.0 billion basic and design budget for 2019 should be reflected during the fourth meeting for the establishment of a basic plan for building the museum.
