(ULSAN=Yonhap News) Ulsan City held the 3D Printing Tech Festa 2018 under the theme of commercializing 3D printing technology for the innovation of manufacturing on September 13 at the University of Ulsan.

The festival is to propose the development direction for commercial 3D printing technology and establish a network of technology convergence.

The event will include international and domestic seminars, award ceremony of the 3D Printing Design for Additive Manufacturing, business exhibitions and experience center for citizens.

Companies and research institutes related to 3D printing will exhibit 3D printing software, scanner, service, device and technology in the exhibition halls.

The outdoor exhibition halls will provide opportunities for visitors to test-drive 3D printed drones, electric vehicles and mini boats made by Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) and Korea Institute of Industrial Technology.

Research on 3D printing material will be presented during the seminar sessions, and Materialise, the global 3D printing software firm will organize an event.

An official from Ulsan City said, "Ulsan is making efforts to nurture and develop regional strategic industry to lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution and for the future of manufacturing sector converged with 3D printing technology by hosting this event."
