According to Yonhap News,
(ULSAN=Yonhap News) Ulsan City said it hosted the “Successful Investment Business Conference” on November 13.
This conference was held to establish a cooperation system among the local government, related agencies, and Korean and international businesses whose aggressive investments have contributed to job creation and economy revitalization despite difficult regional economic conditions.
The mayor of Ulsan granted merit awards to three Korean companies—SK Energy, Rinno Aluminum, and Boohung Photo-Chemical—as well as three foreign investment firms—S-Oil, Lotte BP Chemical, and SNF Korea.
In addition, the Ulsan factory of BASF Korea delivered scholarships to support job-seeking local university students. Scholarships of KRW 1 million each were given to 10 students from three universities—University of Ulsan, Ulsan College, and the Ulsan campus of Korea Polytechnics.
A city official said, “This event will help companies, the local government, and related agencies build an investment and cooperation network as well as share new information, thereby bringing in more investments in the future.”
