According to Yonhap News,

(ULSAN=Yonhap News) Ulsan will commence the construction project of building a VR/AR production support center in full swing.

On December 27, Ulsan City held information sessions at the Ilsan Community Center and at the construction site with about 100 residents attending.

The center is part of the Ministry of Economy and Finance's "support project for fostering innovative growth of industries in the business (employment) crisis regions." Ulsan ICT Promotion Agency is the host of the project, which Ulsan College participates in.

A total of KRW 5.5 billion investment will be made, including the government's KRW 3.2 billion fund and the city expense of KRW 2.3 billion. The three-floored center (1,000 square meters) will be completed by July next year.

The center will have a residence support room, an exhibition room, an experience room and a VR/AR equipment and development room.

When the construction is finished, the center will have co-production equipment to support digital content education, start-ups and development of localized content.

The project will reinvigorate the city facing a crisis in the shipbuilding industry and contribute to the creation of jobs for youth through start-up and enterprise support.
