(ULSAN=Yonhap News) Ulsan city announced on February 19 that it signed an MOU on renewable energy with Denmark embassy in Korea.

This MOU was initiated to facilitate exchange of information and policy on renewable energies including energy efficiency, wind energy, and hydrogen energy, as well as industry-academia cooperation.

Ulsan city mayor said "we agreed on strengthening cooperation on renewable energy including floating offshore wind power," adding that "we will have continued relationship in this field such as exchange of information."

Denmark is a renewable energy powerhouse, ranked 1st in Energy Trilemma index published by the World Energy Council (WEC).

The Energy Trilemma index ranks 125 countries on their performance in meeting the demands of the energy trilemma, i.e., energy security, access, and environmental sustainability. Korea was ranked 35th.

Prior to signing the MOU, Denmark embassy visited Ulsan Technopark and discussed how to improve cooperation with relevant organizations.

For the access road, KRW 29.5 billion (national budget KRW 22.9B, city budget KRW 6.6B) will be financed.

In Ulsan, there are currently 29 industrial complexes: two national industrial complexes, four agricultural complexes, and the remainder 23 are general complexes. Also, ten industrial complexes under consideration are all general complexes.
