Ulju county of Ulsan city had discussion on how to increase exports of agricultural products with those from Vietnam's trading companies on April 22.
The county predicts that export volume to Vietnam will increase this year to 300 tons (worth KRW 1.3 billion), up from 93 tons last year. It is preparing to increase the number of items for exports and carry out sales promotion events this year.
The county used to export pear, persimmon and aloe until last year, but plans to add processed pear products such as pear juice, pear jam, and traditional liquor, etc.
It will also step up local promotion activities, by holding "Ulju Agricultural Products Sales Promotion" in Ho Chi Minh City this year, following the first such event in October last year in Hanoi.
A county official said, "We will cooperate with related organizations to diversify export countries and items, while bolstering local promotion activities and inviting buyers more frequently."
