Ulsan city signed MOU with Denmark's local government on offshore wind power to step up cooperation.
On May 21, Ulsan city signed MOU with Esbjerg of Denmark on offshore wind power energy sector at "Korea-Denmark Partnership Panel Discussion Seminar for Green Transition" at Shilla Hotel, Seoul.
The MOU contains policies and regulations on offshore wind power of two cities, sharing of experiences and know-how from creation and operation of power field, and project development for benefits of two countries, among others.
This MOU follows others: MOU with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners(CIP), headquartered in Denmark, on creation of offshore wind power farm field; and MOU between Ulsan city and the Denmark Embassy in Korea on cooperation for renewables.
The Denmark Embassy in Korea arranged the MOU with Esbjerg through the Denmark Energy Agency, which can be helpful in Ulsan's project.
Ulsan city mayor said, "Esbjerg transformed from oil and gas port city into a port city developing and supporting large-scale offshore wind power farm field. Its policies and experiences are expected to present a model for Ulsan."
Esbjerg is a seaport town in southwest Denmark with the largest offshore wind power farm field, 389 km from the capital city Copenhagen.
