On July 15, Ulsan Economic Promotion Agency (UEPA) announced that it signed MOU with Redon Agglomeration of France on support for hydrogen industry and regional economic vitalization, among others.
Redon Agglomeration is a regional public entity responsible for public service and city and economic development strategy, located in Nantes and Rennes, industrial cities of France.
In particular, it has been devoted to develop hydrogen mobility service in the past two years.
As part of such efforts, it has pushed for H2X, a hydrogen-related project.
With the MOU, Korea and France will set up a cooperative system for development of future energy and renewable energy, set a common goal in industries related with future energy, and take a leading role in fostering specialized companies.
In the lead up to the MOU, UEPA highlighted Ulsan's locational advantage for the hydrogen industry, and Ulsan's strength in technology advancement and talented workforce in the future energy industry sector.
Going forward, active exchanges between hydrogen-related companies in Ulsan and France are expected.
Ulsan plans to promote Ulsan's energy industrial complex to Europe's companies in the hydrogen and renewable energy sector, especially those with technological prowess and investment potential. By doing so, Ulsan will lay the foundation for development of the hydrogen industry.
