The city of Ulsan announced the signing of a letter of intent (LOI) with US industrial chemicals producer Air Products and Chemicals Inc., to further develop environmentally favorable hydrogen technology. The LOI ceremony was held especially when the city delegates made an official visit to the headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania US on Oct 30.

Under the bilateral accord, Air Products and Chemicals Inc., can partner with Ulsan city. Air Products is currently seeking for local businesses capable of working with the US gas producer to meet the demand for the hydrogen technology investment. Once they find business partners enough to team up, they’ll newly establish a facilities to supply hydrogen chemicals and products inside national industrial cluster located inside the city of Ulsan.

They’re also planning to build up hydrogen fueling station applying its unique technology, while forming the supply chain and infrastructure to turn the city into a new hub, a hydrogen chemicals producer in Korea.

The head of Air Products, covering Asia markets, says “We are the world’s biggest hydrogen gas provider, serving customers in industrial markets worldwide based upon its know-how and expertise that have been stored for years with commercially applicable hydrogen gases. I hope that Ulsan city can become the very center of the service making the best use of the technology.”

The city also added that “We’d like to express the deepest appreciation to Air Products and Chemicals Inc., willing to partner with us. To meet the expectation and trust they’ve shown to us, we’ll give full support to the relevant parties involved.”
