According to Yonhap News,
Under a shared goal for joint-research work and technology transfer, a Russian research institute began to partner with local businesses in Ulsan city.
Ulsan TechnoPark announced on Nov. 28 that they’ve delegated a group of local entrepreneurs & engineers to Russia who’ll take a week-long course to visit and look around main institutes of Russia for future business. The team, making an official visit to Moscow Engineering & Physics Institute (MEPHI), Nizhny Novgorod (Нижегородскаяобласть) Chemical & Physical Engineering Research Center and Fiber Optics Research Center of the Russian Academy of Science, Moscow, said both parties agreed to further reinvigorate the intercity partnership for technology transfer and joint -research activities.
First of all, Russia answered favorably on the request for the technology transfer. They’ll gradually hand over source technologies to be commercially applicable to SMEs in the city of Ulsan. And they’ll open a seminar for an in-depth discussion to look for ways to be mutually cooperative in the first half of next year.
“What needs to be done right now for many small businesses in material industry would be swiftly catching up the technologies to be competitive. The technology partnership with Moscow is highly expected to give a chance for local enterprises in Ulsan city, I believe.” the president of Ulsan TechnoPark said.
