ULSAN < invest Korea

According to Yonhap News,

The number of tourists who’ve visited the city of Ulsan reportedly reached over 5 million since Ulsan published the catchphrase ‘Ulsan, the tourist city of this year, 2019’. The city revealed statistical figures and survey result, which says a total of 4.29 million people have visited Ulsan from Jan. to Oct. It’s highly likely that the number would exceed 5 million till the end of this year.

The number of visitors has been steadly on the rise from 4 million in 2018 and 2.58 million in 2017.

The city government, in particular, has ambitiously pushed ahead with a dozen projects which cost approximately KRW 3.3 billion since 2017, in an attempt to develop local tourism industry. Taking the result as pump priming, Ulsan city is now setting up a broad range of development plan that comprehensively covers measures to boost tourism business. A majority of city residents are reported to give positive feedback for the planning.
