Ulsan city to select local SMEs to expand into global markets

The city of Ulsan announced on Feb. 15 that they’ve set up a joint project to help local SMEs take part in world famous exhibitions and trade shows with KITA Ulsan office this year. The project has first launched since 2005 in an attempt to help SMEs explore and expand to overseas markets.

Taking into market analysis, conducted last October, consideration, the local government selected industries to support: offshore plants, machinery, ship building plants and equipment, home appliances, auto parts and fine chemistry. This year, in particular, the city pays more attentions to ASEAN markets to be more in line with the state initiative, the New Southern Policy.

Plus, Ulsan city backs up participants to join large-scale global exhibitions this year, starting from Houston Offshore Technology Conference 2020, USA in May, MTA Vietnam 2020 in July, International Shipbuilding/Machinery/Marine Tech Show in Hamburg, Germany in September, Jakarta International Premium Products Fair 2020 in November to two major expos held in Shanghai and Guangzhou in China.

Those who take part in can be given subsidies, which cover booth rental fees, transportation fee, translation service charge and air fare. Up to 30 enterprises who’re headquartered in Ulsan city can become the potential candidates to join the service.
