The city of Ulsan announced the launch of a business on Mar. 4 in an attempt to give customized support mainly to local SMEs to further advance manufacturing, along with Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) Ulsan office.
City says the project aims to provide technology and R&D support on demand, particularly targeting smaller size enterprises in the community. Spending KRW 800 million on the plan this year, local authorities back up over 190 cases to enhance technology capabilities with KITECH in charge of personalized service at request on site, demand- driven R&D, equipment sharing etc. Those who apply for the program can be given information on technology and mentoring service. In case when the request for the service is not too much complicated, the applicants can get meet with experts instantly.
Plus, when small scale research work and process to make products locally manufactured is succeed, the businesses involved can be given a reward in forms of cash grants and technology support.
