Ulsan city signed an MOU for the widespread use of FCEVs and batteries

The city of Ulsan announced on Jun. 22 the signing of a couple of private-public partnership deals for wide use of fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) and hydrogen fuel cell batteries. The one, particularly calls for coordination among Korea East-West Power, Daewon and Kyeongdong Gas for the shared goals to develop hydrogen fuel cell batteries in the city of Ulsan. Further specifically, the partnership deal mainly includes a project to develop hydrogen fuel cell with 100MW capacity, consolidating solidarity to harness renewable energy with hydrogen-based fuels, investing in hydrogen-economy as a way to boost local economy and supporting hydrogen fuel cell battery plans.

The other is about marketing on the wide adoption of FCEVs both in private and public sectors under the sponsorship of Hyundai Motors and Korea Hydrogen Industry Association. The key players involved work together for wide application of FCEVs, car sharing services, spreading out charging networks throughout the city, giving out 67,000 FCEVs for test driving until 2030 and forming an alliance to fulfill a vision to build out the world’s best hydrogen-city by the year 2030
