Ulsan Technopark successfully attracted 45 hidden champtions
Ulsan Technopark said on Oct 6 that they’ve successfully attracted 45 local hidden champions by the end of September, part of steps to complete the city-led strategy to transform the community into a hub accommodating small but technologically strong companies. The figure outstrips this year’s goal as well as last year’s for all the economic fallout from the coronavirus-induced shock, Technopark said.
To push for the plan, the city and the park spent nearly KRW 1.8 billion to help small enterprises move into the city districts. On the back of the program, 18 enterprises which have already completed their relocation process or set to resettle were financed R&D spending by the authorities, which is estimated to be the main motivator that has led to a great success of the plan.
Twenty-four companies have already moved into various occupancy facilities by the end of September, and additional occupancy is expected by the end of the year.
