According to Yonhap News,
Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) hosted a business information session on Jan 12 in celebration of the inauguration of what’s known as “Artificial Intelligence (AI) Innovation Park”. The event took place online in sequence of briefing sessions outlining what type of UNIST’s business projects are being pushed forward, followed by presentations letting the attendees learn more on how to join the programs.
Almost 300 private-public bodies interested in partnering with the host took part in. Delivering opening remarks at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the head of the project highlighted the role of the Innovation Park, saying “We’re standing at the crossroads of the life with artificial intelligence. What matters now is when. It’s not about whether we could or not, especially in the fields of emerging or manufacturing industries. I do believe the launch of our service will become the very venue where cross sector technological convergence and cooperation arise.“
Right after the keynote speech, the director of the Park gave a presentation, introducing what’s ‘AI Novatus Academia’, an incumbent worker training program designed by the institution. The curriculum consists of a two-month theoretical course and three-month practical course through which students can learn on-site problem solving techniques.
The Innovation Park, which aims to facilitate the innovation ecosystem underpinned by AI / Big data driven education and R&D programs, is located inside UNIST Industry-University Campus near Techno-cluster in Namgu, Ulsan city.
