According to Yonhap News,

The city of Ulsan and part of its municipal district, Buk-gu, reached a consensus on Feb 24 to further bolster a business-education partnership, an agreement of collaboration among schools, business and the public bodies to co-develop the future of mobility. Under the partnership deal agreed upon, both pledged to pitch in with fostering the future of the automotive industry.

Under such deal, Buk-gu will team up with Ulsan technopark, spending nearly KRW 300 million on product sample manufacturing, patents and industry accreditations acquisition, early stage tech development, improvement in manufacturing technology, mentorship programs to build up R&D capacity etc.

The aforementioned programs are highly anticipated to enhance R&D competitiveness and to help businesses self-sufficient in technology. Buk-gu, last year alone, has provided biz-support services for 45 companies, which resulted in KRW 7.7 billion and KRW 100 million increase in sales and exports each, adding 95 new jobs.
