According to Yonhap News,

UFEZ approved an execution plan for 'Ulsan EFZ business district development project' and made announcement on June 10.

UFEZ business district is set to complete construction by 2023, on the total land area of 883,415 sq. meters around KTX Ulsan Station, with a total expense of KRW 525.7 billion.

As the only business district that has an exhibition convention center within EFZ in the South-Eastern region, it has advantage in hosting international conferences and exhibitions.

UFEZ Authority expects that it will contribute to revitalizing regional economy and improving national competitiveness by attracting foreign-invested companies and domestic companies, supporting companies' management activities, and improving living conditions of foreigners.

It is also expected to build industry-academia-research network in connection with development projects in the nearby area such as Ulsan Station Complex Transfer Cener (by Lotte Ulsan Development), Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), Hightech Valley Industrial Complex, among others.

An official said, "We will do our best to inject new vitality to local economy and making the district a hub of Northeast Asia's energy industry with continued support for R&D."
