The city is to announced 'Major achievements for 2030 Implementation plan for Ulsan 3D printing industry to advance' at 3D printing venter cluster knowledge industry center this afternoon.

The 2030 Ulsan 3D printing roadmap consists of 3 strategies, 6 key tasks, and 23 implementation tasks under the vision of 'Korea's largest 3D printing industry center city that leads manufacturing innovation'.

The three strategies are to establish a foundation for 3D printing's innovative growth, secure core technology and spread technological excellence, and develop specialized companies and human resources.

The six key tasks are establishment of 3D printing cluster, establishment of technical support collaboration platform, development of core technology for each industry, technological excellence spread, support for fostering companies, and developing professional manpower.

The main implementation tasks were to build a collaborative foundation centered on the 3D printing convergence technology center, develop 10 core technologies such as automobiles, shipbuilding, and energy, hold exhibitions and contests to promote technological excellence, develop 3D printing special zones, and establish a human resource training center.

It also expects to open the commercialization quality evaluation center in early next year, which plays an important tole in 3D printing technologies.

In addition, the city secured the budget in total of KRW 10.6 billion (KRW 5.1 billion from the government, KRW 5.5 billion from the city) for establishment of 3D printing convergence technology center, to go ahead with project in earnest from next year.
