According to Yonhap News,

Ulsan's Mayor met with Spanish Ambassador to Korea Guillermo Kirkpatrick on June 13 to discuss exchanges and cooperation between Ulsan-si and Spain.

They attended the "2024 Ulsan Floating Offshore Wind Power Forum" held at the Ulsan Exhibition and Convention Center and had a meeting seperately.

They exchanged their views and opinions on Ulsan's renewable energy project and a floating offshore wind power farm creation project, which is currently being pushed for led by the private sector off the coast of Ulsan.

According to the city, Spain is a leader in renewable energy, which accounts for more than half of the country's total electricity generation due to its abundant quantity of solar radiation and air volume.

In particular, Ocean Winds, a company specializing in offshore wind power generation based in Madrid, Spain, is participating in a 1.125 GW floating offshore wind farm in Ulsan.

Ulsan's mayor said, "it was grateful to share the future vision and the current status of Ulsan's renewable energy projects," adding that "we hope that many Spain companies pay attention to and invest in Ulsan."
