On July 18, the Ulsan FTA Trade Promotion Center of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) held the "Council of Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Trade Promotion Agencies" at the Ulsan Exhibition and Convention Center.

Officials from 17 organizations, including three FTA trade promotion agencies in the southeastern region of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, as well as Ulsan-si, Ulsan Regional SMEs and Startups office, Ulsan Customs Office, and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Ulsan Support Center, attended the meeting.

Participants shared the achievements of the council's activities this year and cooperation cases at a meeting presided over by Trade Minister Jeong In-kyo of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

During the meeting, the Ulsan FTA Trade Promotion Center gave presentations dealing with: difficulties that industries are faced with concerning the anti-dumping duty on aluminum extrusions imposed by the US Department of Commerce; recruiting shipping companies due to the Red Sea crisis; procedures of exporting to Russia since Russia's invasion of Ukraine; and cases of resolving difficulties through the collaboration with concerned ministries and support centers.

Afterwards, participants visited Rinno Aluminum, a leading export SME in the region, and listened to suggestions regarding trade environment.

Rinno Aluminum is a company specializing in aluminum materials and parts, which produces high-functioning lightweight auto parts and exports them to the US and Japan.

The Council of Trade Promotion Agencies was established to efficiently promote export and trade support policies in accordance with the pan-governmental trade promotion agencies' MOU signed last year.
