According to Newsis,

(ULSAN = Newsis) — Ulsan Port Authority (UPA) announced on August 4 that it is publicly recruiting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) until August 18 to participate in its "SME ESG Support Project." The initiative aims to encourage SMEs' voluntary participation in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management and support the establishment of a sustainable ESG management framework.

The project is a tailored program designed for SMEs struggling with the introduction and implementation of ESG management systems. It provides end-to-end support, covering everything from diagnosing a company's ESG management level to executing practical improvement tasks and verifying performance.

Domestic SMEs are eligible to apply, and UPA plans to select a total of six companies after reviewing qualification criteria and preference factors.

In particular, companies operating in the Ulsan Port Distripark, businesses in the shipping, port, shipbuilding, and maritime sectors, as well as firms located in the Ulsan area, will be given priority consideration.

Selected companies will receive multifaceted support, including basic ESG education and online self-assessment, expert on-site audits and tailored corporate consulting, assistance for equipment and improvement activities in safety and environmental fields, follow-up monitoring and verification of improvement tasks, as well as mid-to-long-term ESG-linked initiatives and strategic roadmaps.

Enterprises wishing to participate in the program can apply online through the Win-Win Nuri website.

Detailed information regarding the project can be found in the official notice posted on the Ulsan Port Authority website.

Byeon Jae-young, President of UPA, stated, "ESG management is an essential foundation for enhancing SMEs' supply chain resilience and sustainable competitiveness," adding, "We will actively assist companies in internalizing their ESG response capabilities through customized diagnoses and field-centered improvement support suited to each firm's specific conditions."
