According to Newsis,

(ULSAN = Newsis) — Ulsan Technopark (UTP) announced on August 5 that, in partnership with the Ulsan Metropolitan Government, it has finalized the selection of 11 companies for the "2026 Ulsan Tech-Oriented SME Attraction Support Project," designed to revitalize the local economy and secure future growth engines.

The program serves as an attraction initiative that identifies technology-driven small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) relocating or establishing new business premises—such as headquarters, manufacturing plants, or corporate research institutes—in Ulsan this year, providing them with research and development (R&D) funding.

Following document reviews, on-site due diligence, and uations by a selection committee, 11 final companies with strong technological capabilities and growth potential were carefully selected.

The 11 chosen firms will each receive R&D funding ranging from USD 45,000 to USD 60,000 (KRW 60 million to KRW 80 million) to accelerate the development of innovative technologies.

Selected enterprises are required to obtain official tech-oriented SME certification (at least one among establishing a corporate research institute, obtaining Venture Business certification, or acquiring Inno-Biz or Main-Biz designation) within the agreement period. They must also maintain their business operations in Ulsan for the next five years to contribute to regional industrial growth.

From 2020 through last year, the Ulsan Tech-Oriented SME Attraction Support Project successfully led 61 companies to relocate to or establish new operations in Ulsan, playing a role as a catalyst for regional corporate investment.

An official from UTP stated, "Even amid the global economic downturn, companies with outstanding technological capabilities are preparing for a new leap forward in Ulsan," adding, "We will actively support the 11 selected firms so that they can settle stably in Ulsan and grow into global hidden champions."
