(ULSAN = Yonhap News) — Ulju County in Ulsan announced on August 10 that it will participate in the "2026 InnoEX Global Program Phase 2," held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from August 18 to 22, to support local tech startups with outstanding technologies in expanding into the Vietnamese market.

Ulju County is investing USD 525,000 (KRW 700 million) to operate the "Ulju County Tech Startup Ecosystem Support Project" to foster a tech startup ecosystem. In partnership with Ulsan Technopark (UTP), the county provides support for incubation spaces, customized technology development, sales channel expansion, and commercialization.

This program has been operating since last year as part of the county's initiative to expand overseas market channels. The five companies participating in Phase 1 achieved results confirming their potential for global market expansion, conducting a total of 36 export consultations valued at USD 23.58 million.

Building on the local Vietnamese network and buyer discovery experience established last year, Ulju County and UTP will support four outstanding local tech startups this year.

The participating enterprises are Evergreen Plus (eco-friendly agricultural materials and quarantine solutions), Proxi Healthcare (micro-biocurrent-based bio-healthcare and beauty devices), Easy Mining (recycling process equipment for lithium-ion waste batteries), and Poseidon Battery (eco-friendly fire extinguishing agents to block thermal runaway propagation in battery fires).

During the event, these companies will operate a joint InnoEX pavilion to promote their products and technologies. They will participate in step-by-step global expansion programs, including one-on-one tailored export consultations with local buyers, local field validations, investment and business networking, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signings, and contract linkages.

An official from Ulju County stated, "Through last year's InnoEX Global Program, we were able to confirm the outstanding technological capabilities and international competitiveness of our local enterprises," adding, "This year as well, we will actively support the participating companies so that they can secure new growth opportunities in Vietnam and Southeast Asian markets and achieve tangible export results."
