[Ulsan=Newsis] Reporter Ahn Sung-bae = The Danish Ambassador to South Korea visited Ulsan on the 7th to discuss expanding economic and industrial cooperation between Denmark and the municipality, focusing on eco-friendly energy sectors such as offshore wind power.

Ulsan Metropolitan City announced that Danish Ambassador to Korea Svend Olling visited Ulsan City Hall alongside representatives from Haewoori Offshore Wind to hold a meeting with Ulsan Mayor Kim Sang-wook.

The delegation included Ambassador Olling, Pierre Bagaria (CEO of Haewoori Offshore Wind Project), Lee Hyun-seung (Head of Business Development at Copenhagen Offshore Partners [COP]), and Kim Jae-woo (Development Director at Haewoori Offshore Wind Project).

During the meeting, Mayor Kim Sang-wook introduced Ulsan's industrial ecosystem and future growth potential, requesting expanded investments from Danish enterprises in the region.

The delegates shared the status and investment plans for the 1.5 GW Haewoori floating offshore wind project—a project requiring approximately KRW 12 trillion (USD 9.02 billion) in total investment currently being developed off the coast of Ulsan—and discussed collaborative measures to ensure its smooth execution.

Building on this diplomatic visit, Ulsan Metropolitan City plans to strengthen exchanges with the Royal Danish Embassy in Korea while expanding corporate investments and technical cooperation across future strategic sectors, including green energy.

Mayor Kim Sang-wook stated, "Denmark possesses world-class competitiveness in eco-friendly energy and serves as a vital strategic partner for Ulsan," adding, "We expect this visit to further expand economic and industrial exchanges between Ulsan and Denmark, translating into tangible investment cooperation."
