According to Yonhap News,

Ulju-gun and Ulsan City have concluded an agreement for mutual development in the nuclear energy sector with Ulju Governor Sin Jang-yeol, President of Korean Nuclear Society (KNS) Jang Sun-heung and others attending.

The agreement is designed to dissipate residents' concerns over nuclear safety and secure credibility through providing accurate information in the wake of Japan's nuclear leakage accident.

The local government and the KNS will share information on nuclear technology and cooperate for development of the regional nuclear energy industry.

Governor Sin said, "We are able to receive aggressive cooperation from the KNS in laying the foundation for the regional nuclear development, attracting nuclear-related companies and research institutes and establishing the nuclear HQ in Ulju. The cooperation will make us get an easy access to accurate information on nuclear safety."
