According to Yonhap News,
Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the 65th Ulsan Economic Forum on June 21.
Hwang In-seong, Director of Samsung Economic Research Institute, urged Korean companies to invest in emerging economies in a lecture under the topic of "Emerging Economies, Opportunity or Risk for Current Global Economy," emphasizing that "The Korean economy should make most of the expansion of emerging economies' consumer market, their increasing demand for urban infrastructures and abundant resources."
He forecasted that "Emerging economies have transformed from production bases to major consumer market and investment destination. Their economies are expected to surpass $80 trillion-mark in 2020, emerging as a huge consumer market."
But he also cautioned that "Their unstable macro-economy and insufficient
system make them vulnerable to outer shocks. Especially under the current uncertain
global economy, investors are well advised to check out all risk factors."
