Buk-gu completed on-site inspections for 39 sites of 22 public facilities and 17 industrial complexes with the S-Energy, a developer for its solar power plant installation project.

During the inspections, technology required to develop designs and details on power capacities by facility were reviewed.

The construction will begin at the end of September to be completed by the end of November. Power generation will begin at the end of the year.

An S-Energy insider noted that the plan will proceed as planned, adding that Ulsan is the best place for solar power generation, expecting successful operation.

Buk-gu is promoting solar power generation projects in public facilities and industrial complexes for the first time in Korea to solve electricity shortage with new and renewable energy, enhance its image as an eco-friendly city and reinforce competitiveness of regional companies.

Power plants of 1.8MW will be installed at 22 public facilities, including public grounds, paring lots, libraries and health centers.

With power plants of 1.4 MW in 17 companies in four industrial complexes, Buk-gu will have power plants of 3.2MW at 39 sites.

Total KRW 9 billion will be invested by the private sector in this project, and power generated can supply 1,000 households (with four family members) a year.
