Ulsan announced today that it will promote a plan to develop science and technology in the region. Total KRW 1.986 trillion will be invested in 94 projects and eight initiatives.
The plan is a follow-up of the fourth General Plan for Local Science and Technology Promotion.
Key initiative include reinforcement of local-led research and development (R&D) project infrastructure, strengthening of regional R&D planning and management capability, clarification of central and regional government’ role and responsibilities, enhancement of global cooperation, maximization of infrastructure efficiency and expansion of science and technology.
By project, the city will invest KRW 23.2 billion in building a green car technology center and developing core parts for electronic cars.
It will also made an investment of KRW 21.7 billion in enhancing global capability for nuclear plant and invest KKW 11.6 billion in building a science research complex.
