Ulsan City and the Ulsan Economic Promotion Agency held the Ulsan Export Plaza 2013 with foreign buyers and 82 regional small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) this week to observe 234 consultation sessions of USD 66.26 million.

The event drew 31 foreign companies from seven countries, including China, Japan and Thailand. They held one-on-one business consultation sessions with 82 SMEs in various fields of automobile, ship building, machinery and construction to observe 51 contracts of USD 31.42 million.

Noa LED System and MIRAE TECH provided buyers with visits to their manufacturing facilities upon their request.

Songwon Mechanical Group, which produces automatic air vents and control systems, also held aggressive overseas marketing, showing its facilities to buyers.

Songwon Mechanical Group held consultation sessions with Proton Holdings Berhad, which has 60 percent of automobile market share in Malaysia, and Faw Jiefang Automotive Company, LTD., a subsidiary of Changchun-headquartered Faw Group Corporation and a leader in Chinese automobile market.

An Ulsan official noted that the city will support SMEs to expand overseas through continuous management and cooperation from related agencies to maximize the effect, adding that the city will focus on building on networks to accomplish contracts.
