7 of 10 Public Institutions to Open in Ulsan in 2014

(ULSAN = Yonhap News) Seven out of 10 public institutions that relocate to Ujeong-dong, Jung-gu in Ulsan will open in 2014.

With the service center of the Ministry of Employment and Labor relocated to the city in December 2012, a total of seven public institutions will complete constructions of the new offices and begin their operations this year, Ulsan announced on January 3.

Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency (69,026 m2, seven stories) will open their office in February, and the office of Korea Worker’s Compensation & Welfare Service (24,342 m2, 10 stories) will open in March. In May, the offices Human Resources Development Service of Korea (42,487 m2, 10 stories) and Korea East-West Power Corporation (30,323 m2, 10 stories) will be relocated in Ulsan.

Korea National Oil Corporation (47,998 m2, 23 stories) and Korea Energy Economics Institute (15,503 m2, seven stories) will begin their operations in October, while National Disaster Management Institute (19,929 m2, four stories) will open in December.

The Driver’s License Department of the Korea Road Traffic Authority and Korea Energy Management Corporation will open their offices in 2015.

Korea Land & Housing Corporation invested a total of KRW 1.39 trillion in Ulsan the development project of Ulsan Innovation City to develop 2,980,000 m2 site in Jung-gu to attract the population of 20,233. The construction commenced in April 2007 and is expected to complete in June 2015.

Ten public institutions with 3,095 employees will be relocated in the city.

A total of 6,048 houses will be constructed to accommodate employees of the public institutions.
