UPA Holds Meeting to Discuss Port Development

(ULSAN = Newsis) The Ulsan Port Authority (UPA) held a briefing session on April 9 at the Ulsan Port Marine Center in Jangsaengpo to discuss prospect of the cruise industry in Ulsan Port and development of the port’s wharf.

The city will forecast the demand for the cruise industry and look into the possibility of combining the cruise industry in Ulsan Port.

The UPA plans to carry out professional research activity to potential and feasibility of developing the cruise industry in Ulsan Port.

The authority aims to develop Ulsan Port an advanced port in which the industry and culture coexists.

The research will be carried out by Korea Maritime and Ocean University for six months.

“We expect to obtain the results from the research activity that will help Ulsan establish a cruise terminal development plan based on the precise demand analysis and enhance Ulsan Port’s position as one of the advanced ports in the Northeastern Asia. It will also contribute to the development of the local economy,” said an official.
