(ULSAN=NEWSIS) Korea Hydrogen Industry Association, located in Ulsan city, announced on May 22 the launching ceremony of ‘Green Hydrogen Forum, which will be held at the national assembly on May 27.

Mr. Lee, Chae-Ik and Lee, Chi-Yoon, CEOs of Deokyang Co., Ltd, will become Co-CEOs of this forum. The forum will consist of a policy committee, operating committee, working committee and a secretariat. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will also be signed at the opening ceremony, between Korea Hydrogen Industry Association and Korea Petrochemical Industry.

The ceremony will be followed by two topic presentations and discussions on policy proposal regarding nurturing of green hydrogen industry and safety.

The forum, which will take place more than twice a year in different regions, aims to find ways to converge hydrogen with various industries such as energy, chemistry, and automobile. It ultimately seeks to take the lead in opening hydrogen –based economic era.

The forum’s main responsibility is to nurture technology needed for hydrogen industry, set up necessary infrastructure, nurture human talents, lay out R&D roadmap, and solidifying related standards on regulations, quality and safety. On January 14, Korea Hydrogen Industry Association held inaugural meeting at Lotte Hotel in Ulsan City, where 400 people from relevant corporations and research institutions participated.

Ulsan city, has the best conditions for nurturing hydrogen industry. Not only is it the biggest producer of hydrogen in the country, but is also home to the mass production of 1st hydrogen fueled cell vehicle in the world, as well as the biggest hydrogen town in the world. The city also has 100km long pipeline installed for hydrogen delivery.
