(ULSAN=NEWSIS) Ulsan City announced March 23 that it will invest KRW 814.8 billion (national expense: KRW 137.5 billion, local expense: KRW 301.6 billion, and others: KRW 375.7 billion) in 128 business projects to create 34,800 new jobs in 2015.
By business sectors, the city will produce 8,124 jobs in 10 projects for direct job creation, 687 jobs in 10 projects for job ability development training, 4,088 jobs in 27 projects for employment services and subsidies, 10,422 jobs in 22 projects for building job infrastructure and 11,481 jobs in 59 projects for other sectors.
The major projects include creating a tailored industrial site; expanding the high-tech valley, 2nd Gilcheon Industrial Complex, techno-industrial complex and Onsan National Industrial Complex, building infrastructure; promoting corporate investment at home and abroad; and developing social companies.
The city has created 34,208 jobs in 2014 by carrying out 103 projects in 8 sectors.
"Our aim is to increase the employment rate to 64 percent by the end of 2015. Since the employment rate is falling not only in Ulsan but across the country, we have to be more proactive in responding to creating jobs," said a city official.
