President Yoon Suk Yeol met with the Japanese delegates in the Office of the President who came to Korea to take part in the upcoming Korea-Japan Business Conference, and said, "I look forward to an improved collaboration between Korean and Japanese enterprises in securing reliable supply chains of high-tech industries including semiconductors, batteries, and electric vehicles." on May 15.

The 55th Korea-Japan Business Conference will be held from 16th to 17th of May for the first time in 4 years to convene business leaders of the two countries to discuss the way to make cooperate.

"Korean companies equipped with outstanding manufacturing prowess and Japanese companies excelling at materials, parts, equipment are complementary.", emphasized President Yoon and said, "Under our mutually beneficial cooperation, Korea and Japan will be able to jointly respond to global issues and present the globe with a new vision by entering into emerging markets to promote new business opportunities, address global challenges, and contribute to economic growth in those emerging and developing economies."

President Yoon will have the Korea-Japan cooperative plans on global challenges, such as public health, global supply chain, and climate change fleshed out while attending the three-day G7 Summit in Hiroshima that kicks off May 19th. He also mentioned 'Korea-Japan Future Partnership Fund' co-founded by the FKI (The Federation of Korean Industries) and Nippon Keidanren (Japan Business Federation).

President Yoon urges business leaders of the both countries to give a sufficient attention to the fund in order to vitalize exchanges among the youth.

Mikio Sasaki, chairman of the Japan-Korea Economic Association, responded "We, as businessmen, are so glad to see interactions between the two governments and 'Korea-Japan 'shuttle diplomacy' resumed. We appreciate President Yoon's firm resolution." He also added, "Since we have well entered into the Post-COVID-19 era, we will do our part to expand youth exchanges programs for future generations. When we join hands, the outcomes will double."
