North Jeolla province(Jeonbuk-do) said that it started a test operation of Korea's first renewable energy complex.
The construction of the renewable energy complex in Buan took 7 years. The complex aims to attract businesses and research institutes to research on solar energy, wind power and hydrogen fuel cells.
North Jeolla Province expects that the complex can create about 6,000 jobs and KRW 500 billion of value added from the second quarter of this year.
The governor of the North Jeolla province said that the renewable energy complex is an important starting point for the province to become a hub of renewable energy in Northeast Asia.
