South Korea's leading auto parts maker Hyundai Mobis Co. said Monday that it has
held an exhibition at the headquarters of U.S. automaker Chrysler Group LLC. in
a bid to strengthen its presence in the U.S. market.
The exhibition,
which took place on Friday in Chrysler's Technology Center in Detroit, featured
some 195 items of automotive products manufactured by Hyundai Mobis and its 15
smaller suppliers, Hyundai Mobis said.
There were also consultation
sessions to help the South Korean parts firms seek partnerships and business
deals with U.S. buyers, it added.
Hyundai Mobis signed a combined
US$1.07 billion contract with Chrysler and General Motors Co. last month to
supply key auto parts to the U.S. automakers.
Hyundai Mobis is the
auto parts arm of Hyundai Motor Group, the world's fifth-largest automaker that
has under its wing Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Motors Corp. with a combined 6.6
million vehicles sold last year.
