South Korea ranks third in terms of the most recognized foreign brands in China,
a survey showed Tuesday.
The China Brand Research Center said in its
annual China Brand Power Index report that South Korean brands made up 10
percent of the top 48 foreign industrial brands with five brands.
South Korea followed the United States, which accounted for nearly half of the
48 with 23 brands and Britain, which had seven top brands in China.
Among the five South Korean brands, Samsung Electronics Co. was No. 1 in the
categories of TVs, mobile phones and monitors, while Orion Corp. and Lock &
Lock Co. topped the lists for pies and plastic wares, respectively.
Samsung Electronics successfully maintained the leading positions it secured
last year despite the cutthroat competition in its product categories, the
center said.
China, the world's No. 2 economy, is the largest importer
of South Korean goods.
Bilateral trade between the neighboring
countries is expected to reach US$300 billion by 2015.
