An Hui-jeong, governor of South Chungcheong Province, recently signed a $40 million (45.2 billion won)-investment agreement with Wayne M. Mitchell, President of the Electronics Division of Air Products and Chemicals, in the United States. The investment will go towards establishing by next year an additional 10,775 square meter-manufacturing facility for industrial gases to be supplied to Samsung Electronics.
The agreement is expected to generate 248.9 billion won in sales revenue, 180 jobs and production worth 292.2 billion won for the next five years.
Air Products and Chemicals, a special industrial gas manufacturer, has supplied
gases to about 300 countries since its founding in 1940. It has 18,900 employees
and annual sales revenue of $10 billion.
