Wilo Pump, the Korean division of German pump manufacturer Wilo SE, is looking to expand its presence in the industrial water treatment sector at home and abroad through a new facility being built in Busan's Mieum Foreign Investment Zone.
To include a factory, headquarters and office building, the facility will use renewable energies including geothermal heat and solar energy and recycle rainwater in their manufacturing process, as well as use environmentally-friendly construction materials. A total of 40 billion won ($35.398 million) will be injected into the 32,000 square meter project, to be completed by January.
Wilo Pump is a leading manufacturer of water pipes for buildings and households.
Sales last year total at 160 billion won.
