The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) invited representatives of China's economy delegation group, led by Shandong Governor Jiang Daming, to a luncheon meeting held at Lotte Hotel in early August.

About 50 people, including Vice President of the FKI Jeong Byeong-cheol, Shandong Governor Jiang, Vice President of Aju Group Lee Tae-yong, President of Lotte Group Hwang Gak-gyu, President of Kumho Resort Park Sang-bae and Vice President of KB Bank Lee Chan-geun, attended the meeting.

Shandong is the first region in China to establish economic exchange with Korea and many Korean companies do operation in the region. Korea is Shandong's largest trade partner.

"Korea's exchange with Shandong marked the beginning of human and resource exchange between Korea and China. About 20,000 Korean companies entered Shandong, which is the largest number among China's 23 provinces," said Vice President Jiang in a welcoming speech. "I hope many Korean companies would aggressively engage in Shandong Blue Economic Zone project under construction to pursue the marine and environmentally-friendly economy."

Governor Jiang also said, "The Shandong Blue Economic Zone will have become the first district in China to implement the central government led-local development strategy focusing on the marine economy. The project is designed to expand the development strategy from the inland economy to the marine one."

After the meeting, China's economy delegation group visited major Korean companies including Hyundai Motors, GS, SK and Doosan Group.
